Our school is going through the process of becoming a Leader in Me school. Everyday we include lessons about the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in order to empower each student and develop their leadership style. We are only in the very beginning stages. You see, we have to start living the habits in our own lives before we can truly teach and develop them into our student’s lives. Balancing and making a more rigorous curriculum, intwining the 7 Habits into every aspect of the day, grading, using data driven instructional plans, and the countless other responsibilities we have has proven to be an uphill battle. every. single. day. It’s a battle I can’t wait to win, but for now we use our faith and hard work.
So where do meal plans come into this post? Well, Tyler and I recently started a Buis Household Binder. Come on, we are teachers, which means we like everything planned, organized, scaffolded, and differentiated. What’s a more perfect way to help us get started with the 7 Habits than to make a binder that will help us be proactive? So here she is, folks. Our little beauty isn’t done, but I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished only one day into break.
We promise we aren’t insane. Maybe just a little OCD. Okay, A LOT OCD. But one day is only 24 hours and we plan on making the most of it. Organizing and planning everything is going to take a lot of time right now, but during such a stressful, hectic time in our lives we can’t afford to not do it.
Oh, what was that you said? You want your very own binder? Well, have no fear. Once I get ours completely finished I will post the link to download the whole thing. And please, feel free to change it, especially that Buis part.
